Great Day Improvements - Human Resource Manager - Strategic Business Partner Manufacturing 

This position will be a partner to our Great Day Manufacturing organization in Cincinnati and Cleveland and work with our shared services teams to ensure execution and strategies around staffing, employee relations, compliance, training and organizational development, compensation and benefits administration and recruiting meet business and team member needs. Our HR Manager is a strategic business partner who will focus on strategic execution to meet our growth and performance goals AND efforts to become a destination employer.  Our HR manager is a passionate learner who is willing to stretch and grow with us.

Responsibilities

While managers own the relationship with employees. The HR manager is a professional and expert who can help recruit, develop, communicate, connect, and deliver strong HR services in collaboration with the shared services.

Specifically, the HR Manager will:

  • Be the trusted partner of Manufacturing management helping build strong people practices and strategies aligning with priorities of Great Day to be a destination employer and achieve our road ahead.
  • Integrate and build positive strong and effective relationships and practices through frequent communication and process improvements.
  • Harmonizes HR related responsibilities, people policies and practices cross manufacturing sites and teams to achieve Manufacturing and Great Day objectives for growth and performance. Promotes a positive relationship with all employees and direct dealing.
  • Partner cross Great Day and Manufacturing to ensure clear and inspiring communication and support of change management across teams.
  • Partners with Manufacturing leadership, Chief People Officer and HR Team with the following in a way consistent with Great Day and tailored to meet manufacturing specific deliverables.
  • Compensation Analysis & Planning
    • Responsible for comparative market analysis by position/location
    • Development and maintenance of wage scale / salary bands
    • Assists in development / coordination of Variable Comp structures.
  • Employee Relations, Regulatory & Legal Compliance
  • Ensures compliance with HR related legal and regulatory requirements. With management and CPO needs to affirm the Manufacturing management practices are meeting the needs of FMLA, state laws
  • Coordinates with Shared Services on all relevant policy updates and communicates to MFG team as needed.
  • Maintains employee files and ensures information is updated and accurate in our HRIS system.
  • Guidance and counsel management and employees on human resource policies and procedures and developing a strong culture consistent with our team commandments.
  • Leads or develops course of action for employee relations related investigations and issues. Proactively uses survey results, feedback and input cross manufacturing to develop and advise on retaining direct dealing.
  • Employee Benefits
    • Coordinates with Shared Service team on employee benefits and assists in communications and rollout of changes.
    • Facilitates employee onboarding and open enrollment periods.
  • Performance Evaluations
    • Assists in the development and maintenance of standardized performance evaluation process, ensuring standardized / metric driven grading scales across departments.
    • Facilitates annual (bi-annual?) evaluation process with department heads.
    • Supports discipline process and documentation on an as-needed basis.
  • Learning & Development
    • Partner with Shared Service L&D team on program content, trainings, and communication.
    • Assist in development and maintenance of training and development programs for plant level associates (Learn to Earn, Elite Operator, etc) and manufacturing specific learning needs.
  • Recruitment
    • Partner with temporary employment agencies to source plant level associates and coordinate necessary onboarding and invoicing activities.
    • Provides strategic support for the workforce pipeline and sourcing channels.
  • On-Boarding
    • Facilitates employee onboarding and communication of company policies, including documentation, payroll and benefit setup, etc.
    • Maintains employee / visitor identification badge program (CIN).
  • Metric Analysis
    • Compensation analysis by department/tenure/position/location.
    • Turnover reporting by department/location.
    • Coordination of survey driven feedback with Shared Service team.
  • Organization Strategy
    • Assist in strategic talent review, especially across supervisory and leadership positions in the MFG division.
    • Facilitate succession planning and organizational development of key resources.
    • Help to identify competency gaps and assist in the development of programs and solutions to address.
  • Leans in and supports the team and businesses as needed, including other duties from time to time.

Qualifications

Knowledge:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field; or five plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of Human Resources practices such as compensation, benefits, on-boarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and employment law.

Knowledge of regulatory experience, compliance, employment law; experience drafting policies and procedures, writing and reviewing EEO position statement responses.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include Office 365, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Knowledge of HRIS systems.

Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures such as word processing, managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology.

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the spelling and meaning of words, rules of composition and grammar.

Knowledge of principles and standards for providing excellent customer service.

Knowledge of cloud-based collaborative applications such as Office 365, Dropbox, Basecamp, Google Apps, iCalendar, Outlook and related programs.

Demonstrated knowledge of coordinating all aspects of large and small-scale projects, events, and meetings.
