Great Day Improvements - Senior Human Resources Business Partner Manufacturing
The Sr. HR Business Partner, Manufacturing, serves as the primary HR point of contact for the Walton Hills - Great Day Improvements manufacturing facility, partnering closely with plant leadership to support daily operations while aligning human resources strategies with business objectives. This role provides both strategic and hands-on HR support across employee relations, workforce planning, talent development, and workplace policies and employment regulations, working closely with manufacturing leaders and frontline supervisors to support operational goals, strengthen employee engagement, and maintain a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
Responsibilities
Business Partnership & Leadership Support
- Serve as the primary HR partner for the Walton Hills manufacturing facility, supporting plant leadership and employees on HR-related matters.
- Partner with manufacturing and functional leaders to understand operational challenges and deliver HR strategies that drive workforce performance, engagement, and retention.
- Provide guidance and coaching to supervisors and managers on leadership effectiveness, employee management, and workplace practices.
- Foster strong relationships across departments to strengthen communication, collaboration, and business alignment.
- Collaborate with HR partners across other manufacturing locations on cross-site initiatives and best practice sharing.
Employee Relations & Workforce Management
- Provide guidance to supervisors and managers on employee relations, attendance management, performance management, and accountability action processes.
- Manage complex employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation, in partnership with Sr. HR Director.
- Promote a fair and consistent approach to employee relations while supporting a positive and respectful workplace culture.
Talent Management & Workforce Planning
- Support workforce planning, recruiting efforts, and staffing strategies to ensure operational staffing needs are met.
- Guide leaders through talent reviews, succession planning discussions, and employee development initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify skill gaps and implement training and development programs.
HR Programs, Data & Operational Support
- Utilize HR data and metrics (turnover, absenteeism, engagement, hiring, productivity) to identify trends and provide actionable insights to plant leadership.
- Support the rollout and adoption of enterprise HR programs and policies while tailoring implementation to meet local plant needs.
- Support timekeeping and workforce processes through ADP Workforce Manager, ensuring accurate time and attendance management.
Workplace Safety & Employment Practices
- Partner with operations and safety leadership to reinforce workplace safety initiatives and safe work practices.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and employment regulations, maintaining knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
Qualifications
Skills
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategies to operational goals.
- Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, and conflict resolution skills.
- Deep understanding of HR disciplines including talent management, employee relations, labor law, and organizational development.
- Ability to analyze data, diagnose problems, and develop effective solutions.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and manufacturing-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (Workday, UKG, or similar platforms).
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Five or more years of progressive HR experience, including at least two years in a strategic business partner or HR leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Management strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting operations or manufacturing teams strongly preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer while other days will be spent walking around the manufacturing plant.
- Most days, frequently changing from sitting to standing throughout the day.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds at a time.
